Beware of Fake iCloud Messages

Beware of Fake iCloud Messages
How to protect your Apple ID, photos and personal data
At iStore Tanzania, we believe that buying an Apple device is only the beginning. Our role is to help customers use their devices safely, confidently and with peace of mind.
A growing scam is targeting iPhone users with fake iCloud messages. These messages may say your iCloud storage is full, your photos may be deleted, or your payment details need to be updated. They often include a link such as “upgrade storage”, “manage iCloud” or “update payment”.
|
Do not click the link. Check iCloud directly from your iPhone settings. |
What is the risk?
This is a phishing scam. Criminals pretend to be Apple or iCloud to trick you into entering sensitive information on a fake website. They may try to steal your Apple ID, password, card details, verification codes or personal information. If they access your Apple Account, they may reach your iCloud photos, contacts, emails, backups and connected devices.
Why people get caught
The scam works because it creates fear. Most people do not want to lose family photos, WhatsApp backups, business documents or personal files. A message saying “your photos will be deleted” can make someone act quickly without checking. That urgency is the trap.
Warning signs
· The message says “final warning”, “account suspended”, “storage full” or “photos will be deleted”.
· It asks you to click a link, update payment details, enter your Apple ID password or share a verification code.
· It comes from an unknown number, email address or WhatsApp message.
· It tells you to call a phone number in the message or allow remote access to your phone or computer.
How to protect yourself
· Never manage iCloud from a link in a message. On your iPhone, go to: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
· Never share your Apple ID password, device passcode or verification code with anyone.
· Use a strong Apple Account password and keep two-factor authentication turned on.
· Keep your iPhone updated and review trusted devices under Settings → your name.
· If unsure, ask iStore before clicking.
If you clicked
If you clicked but did not enter anything, close the page and delete the message. If you entered your Apple ID password, change it immediately and check your trusted devices, payment methods and account security settings. If you entered card details, contact your bank immediately.

Hatari ni nini?
Huu ni utapeli wa phishing. Wahalifu hujifanya kuwa Apple au iCloud ili kukudanganya uingize taarifa muhimu kwenye tovuti bandia. Wanaweza kujaribu kuiba Apple ID yako, password, taarifa za kadi, verification code au taarifa binafsi. Wakipata Apple Account yako, wanaweza kufikia picha za iCloud, contacts, emails, backups na vifaa vilivyounganishwa.
Kwa nini watu hunaswa?
Utapeli huu hutumia hofu.
